The rTMS Centre’s 2019 successes

2019 has been a successful year for The rTMS Centre (Sheffield). These achievements have been recognised by the awards we have won.

Additionally, the awards reflect on Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) being an established treatment for mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and OCD in the UK. The awarding bodies have recognised the success and effectiveness of TMS treatment for treating mood and anxiety disorders.

TMS treatment works by stimulating or inhibiting specific areas of the brain in order to gain balance. For example, anxiety treatment involves inhibiting the right prefrontal cortex of the brain. Therefore, this calms the over-stimulation of the brain which is causing the anxiety symptoms.
